The Chair of Algebraic Combinatorics at the Faculty of Mathematics is looking for a
research associate / Postdoc (m,f,x) for 2 years with 39,83 hours per week, TV-L E13
The research group in Algebraic Combinatorics at Ruhr-University Bochum invites applications for a 2 years postdoctoral position to pursue research in a field related to the research group such as Algebraic, Enumerative, Geometric Combinatorics, Combinatorial Representation Theory, or Computational Algebra.
The successful candidate will work in the Algebraic Combinatorics research group of Prof. Christian Stump within the project "Machine learning combinatorial statistics and maps" funded by the German Research Foundation (https://www.combinatorial-synergies.de/projects/?elem=Machine-learning-combinatorial-statistics-and-maps). The project is part of the DFG priority program "Combinatorial Synergies" (https://www.combinatorial-synergies.de).
Your tasks:
- Research in Algebraic Combinatorics with a view towards computational methods and machine learning techniques.
- Active participation and coorganization of events of the research group and the priority program.
- Collaboration with other researchers in the field, nationally and internationally.
- The position includes travel support.

Your profile:
- Applicants should hold a PhD in mathematics and the topic of the PhD thesis should be related to the research group.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
