The Chair of Building materials technology at the Faculty of Civil and environmental engineering is looking for a
research associate (m,f,x), for 4years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13
Our research and teaching focus on various areas of construction materials with emphasis on concrete and innovative mineral-bonded composites. Open questions in the basic research of cement-bound construction materials as well as practice-oriented questions about the sustainability and durability of concrete are addressed. The predominantly experimental research is carried out in our laboratories as well as in the structural testing laboratory KIBKON of the faculty.
As part of the newly established Collaborative Research Center CRC 1683 “Interaction Methods for the Modular Reuse of Existing Structures”, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), we are looking for a motivated and creative individual who has a particular affinity for materials science in construction and is interested in achieving a doctoral degree in this field. Specifically, the project involves the combined application of non-destructive testing methods and the development of categorization approaches for the reuse of degraded and aged reinforced concrete elements.

The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is one of Germany’s leading research universities, addressing the whole range of academic disciplines. A highly dynamic setting enables researchers and students to work across the traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties. To create knowledge networks within and beyond the university is RUB’s declared aim.
The Ruhr-Universität Bochum stands for diversity and equal opportunities. For this reason, we favour a working environment composed of heterogeneous teams, and seek to promote the careers of individuals who are underrepresented in our respective professional areas. The Ruhr-Universität Bochum expressly requests job applications from women.
