The project "Palaeoenvironment of the Iranian Highlands" analyses sediment archives that provide information about the Holocene climate and environmental change of this region, which has been inhabited for a long time and is characterised by predominantly arid climatic conditions. The results will be discussed in collaboration with colleagues from other subject disciplines in order to draw conclusions about human-environment relationships in the Iranian highlands. The project is part of the "SPP-2176 The Iranian Highlands: Resilience and Integration in Pre-Modern Societies".
