Research Lab Technician (f/m/x) – Protein homeostasis in mammalian oocytes

The ProteOOstasis Lab is a recently established research group at CECAD, located on one of Europe‘s top research campuses with state-of-the-art facilities. We are looking for a reliable and motivated technician (f/m/x) to support the lab operations, with the possibility of performing advanced experiments in autonomously and contributing to research projects.
YOUR TASKS
Laboratory organization and management: ensuring proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
Compliance with safety and hygiene regulations in the laboratory
Collaboration on research projects and conducting experiments
Induction and training of new employees
Extraction and analysis of DNA, RNA and proteins from plant and microbial samples
Carrying out PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, Western blot and other biochemical and molecular biological techniques
Acquisition and evaluation of experimental data
Maintenance of detailed laboratory protocols
Close collaboration with scientists in planning and scientists in the planning and implementation of research projects
YOUR PROFILE
You hold a Biological Technical Assistant (f/m/x) title (BTA, CTA, MTA) or equivalent, or as a laboratory technician (f/m/x) with equivalent skills and experience of a TA (f/m/x) or comparable qualification
Good knowledge of written and spoken German and English, as well as good IT skills
You are responsible, organized and able to work independently
You have excellent organizational skills and adequate time management
You enjoy working in a team
You are experienced in biochemical methods, such as PCRs, western blot and/or cell culture
You are willing to work with mice, experience in handling mice is desirable

The position is available from 07.01.2025 on a full-time basis (39,83 hours per week). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.12.2027 with the option to extend until 31.12.2029. If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary is based on remuneration group 9a TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
