The Academy for European Human Rights Protection at the University of Cologne, under the direction of Professor Dr DDr h.c. Angelika Nußberger M.A., offers a postdoctoral researcher position (f/m/x). The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.05.2026 as part of a 12 months replacement.
YOUR TASKS
Conducting research in the Academy‘s fields of research (European and international human rights protection, constitutional and public international law, Eastern European law)
Participation in and organization of events and research projects
Participation in teaching (tutorials, moot court, etc.)

If the applicant meets the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the salary will be based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.

YOUR PROFILE
Research proposal in the Academy‘s research areas
Doctoral thesis in the Academy‘s research areas (grade obtained at least ‘magna cum laude’) or an equivalent excellent foreign doctoral degree
Relevant peer-reviewed publications in the Academy‘s research areas
(German) first or second state exam (grade obtained at least ‘vollbefriedigend’ in the state part) or an equivalent excellent foreign law degree
Profound knowledge in the area of international human rights law as well as public international law and constitutional law
Excellent English proficiency as well as another foreign language
Proven teaching experience
Keen interest in research
Showing initiative
Ability to work in a team
