The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Cologne is looking for a postdoctoral researcher (f/m/x) in probability theory.
YOUR TASKS
Position Overview: We are seeking an outstanding and highly-motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in probability theory. Ideal candidates will have a doctorate in Mathematics (or a closely related field) and demonstrated expertise in probability theory, particularly in the study of random media, such as percolation theory or processes in random environments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in the DFG Priority Programme (SPP 2265) ‘Random Geometric Systems’, on cutting-edge topics at the intersection of geometry and probability.

Doctorate in Mathematics or a closely related discipline
Strong research background in probability theory, particularly in areas related to random media
Interest in collaborating on research projects within larger academic initiatives like SPP 2265

The position is available immediately on a full-time basis. The position is to be filled for a fixed term until 31.03.2027 with the possibility of extension for another year. If the applicant meets personal qualifications and the relevant wage requirements or the relevant civil service wage requirements, the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector.
