The Institute for Diversity Studies in Engineering (IDS) in the Faculty 7 (Engineering Design, Production Engineering and Automotive Engineering) at the University of Stuttgart is seeking to fill the following position at the earliest possible date:
Academic Staff Member (100% working hours, compensation level TV-L E13) with the possibility to pursue a doctoral degree in the field of System Dynamics (Dr.-Ing. or Dr.rer.pol., respectively).
The position is initially limited to 3 years, an extension to up to 6 years is possible.
The IDS is concerned with the effects and design possibilities of diversity in complex socio-technical systems. In research and teaching we focus on the question of how diversity and differences in socio-technical systems can contribute to innovation. We pursue this question with an interdisciplinary team in a broad application context, ranging from individualized products and services to diversity management in teams and organizations to collaboration across organizational and industry boundaries. In research and teaching, we use the System Dynamics approach with both its qualitative and quantitative methods.

Your profile
You have profound knowledge in System Dynamics, both in the area of qualitative modeling with causal loop diagrams and in the area of quantitative modeling and simulation, ideally with the software Vensim®. You have completed a university degree with excellent results in a subject and method that matches the areas of work described above. In addition to a good command of German, you also have a good command of written and spoken English. You are flexible, work in a structured manner, enjoy scientific work and have an appreciation for diversity. You have very good communication skills, above-average commitment and the ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary team.
